Job Description:

Application Support Specialist for Jet Engine Test Performance Data Systems

Responsible for the daily operation and support of a Jet Engine Test Data Management system for the storage and real time monitoring/analysis of engine test performance data from test stands and inflight tests. Maintaining day to day application operability that relies on a complicated computer infrastructure and network. Perform problem-solving tasks when alerted by a customer or from monitoring tools. Knowledgeable of engine test requirements, data flows, various data file formats and conversion utilities.

Typical tasks include: Troubleshooting issues with Compute Server processes, update scripts/processes to support new architectural or security requirements, GUI enhancements, develop new data processing modules for new customer sites or data formats, update/add new Oracle database tables/views, troubleshoot issues with downstream applications, investigate processing and storage issues, investigate issues with connections to remote sites, correcting metadata in engine test data files, reprocessing/storing test data files when initial processing fails, retransmitting test data files to partners when automatic transmissions fail, support access issues.

Skills required:

Proficient with Windows, Linux and Unix System OS.

Proficient use of C, C++ and Java programming languages

Proficient use of C-shell and Perl scripting languages

Proficient use of HTML and Web Development using Perl cgi

Proficient use of Crontabs for process scheduling on UNIX

Proficient use of Relational Data Base modeling

Proficient use of Oracle PL*SQL, SQL*Plus and Pro*C programming tools

Proficient use of Perl Spreadsheet and DBI modules

Knowledge of Citrix Receiver, SSH, file encryption, Active Directory.

Knowledge of how UNIX ACL's are used to restrict data access.

Knowledge of MQSeries for message passing between Apps

Knowledge of Qt GUI application development

Familiar with the use of SAMBA and smbclient

Familiar with Corporate computing network infrastructure.

Familiar with ServiceNow for Incident Management.

Strong analytical problem solving skills and communication skills. Ability to work closely with Engineering customers and to understand their business use of the tools, to better troubleshoot their issues. Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills.

BS Degree.

5+ years experience.

Must be US Citizen - working with US Military data.

Onsite in East Hartford, CT USA or Remote with periodic travel

Secret Clearance Required or Ability to obtain a clearance
