The Manager / Senior Consultant – Infrastructure & Platform Services is responsible for the design, delivery, and ongoing optimisation of enterprise infrastructure and platform services that support mission-critical business operations. This role provides technical leadership across complex environments, including on‑premises and cloud platforms, contact centre technologies, and shared infrastructure services.
The position combines hands-on technical depth, solution architecture capability, and people and stakeholder leadership, supporting both operational service delivery and transformation initiatives. The role works closely with customers, internal delivery teams, and vendors to ensure resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure outcomes aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Platform Leadership

Lead the design, deployment, and support of enterprise infrastructure and platform solutions in multi-site and high-availability environments.

Provide technical authority and oversight for infrastructure components including compute, storage, networking, voice platforms, and cloud services.

Ensure infrastructure services meet availability, performance, security, and resilience requirements, particularly for mission-critical workloads.
Solution Architecture & Delivery
-
Translate business and operational requirements into scalable, fit-for-purpose technical solutions.

Perform architecture, detailed design, and technical planning across complex infrastructure and platform environments.

Support project and program delivery activities, including solution design, build, migration, and transition to operations.
-
Lead or contribute to technical workshops, discovery sessions, and solution demonstrations for stakeholders.
Operational Oversight & Governance
-
Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues, major incidents, and service disruptions.

Support root cause analysis, remediation planning, and continuous service improvement initiatives.

Ensure infrastructure services adhere to organisational standards, architectural principles, and governance frameworks.

Maintain system documentation, design artefacts, operational procedures, and technical runbooks.
Stakeholder & Vendor Engagement
-
Partner with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and external service providers to align infrastructure services with operational needs.

Provide trusted technical advice to customers and internal stakeholders on infrastructure capabilities, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Support vendor management activities, including technical assurance, service quality review, and solution evaluation.
Strategy & Continuous Improvement

Contribute to infrastructure strategy, roadmaps, and modernisation initiatives, including cloud adoption and platform transformation.

Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise, or modernise infrastructure and platform services.

Promote the adoption of emerging technologies and industry best practices where they add clear business value.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience
-
Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) delivering and supporting enterprise infrastructure and platform solutions in complex environments.

Proven background in solution consulting, technical leadership, or senior engineering roles.
-
Demonstrated experience working across multi-site, multi-tenant, or highly regulated environments.
-
Experience supporting both operational services and project-based delivery.

Voice, communications, or customer interaction platforms

Experience integrating infrastructure platforms with upstream and downstream business systems.

Proven ability to operate as a technical leader and trusted advisor.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

Experience mentoring or guiding engineers and technical specialists.

Ability to balance technical depth with commercial, operational, and client considerations.
Qualifications
Essential

Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
3Desirable

Industry certifications in infrastructure, cloud, networking, or service management (e.g. cloud platform certifications, networking certifications, IT service management frameworks).

Experience with IT service management and operational governance frameworks (e.g. ITIL).

Work Environment
This role operates within a hybrid enterprise environment, supporting both on‑premises and cloud-based infrastructure and platforms. The position may require occasional after-hours support for major incidents, critical changes, or project deployments, particularly for high-availability or mission-critical systems.
