Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to support the delivery of high-quality claims management across our Workers’ Compensation portfolio. This role plays an important part in ensuring strong technical practices, compliance, and consistent performance outcomes within the team.
You will work closely with claims teams and internal stakeholders, including Legal, to provide technical guidance, support decision-making, and help drive improvements in claims handling.
Key Responsibilities

Support continuous improvement across claims technical practices

Assist claims teams in meeting performance and compliance targets

Work with the Legal Manager to support claims strategies and outcomes

Provide technical guidance on claims management and legislation

Conduct entitlement and file reviews, including identifying potential fraud

Support teams in delivering quality service and meeting key metrics

Identify trends in claims and recommend practical improvements

Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders

Ensure adherence to legal, governance and WorkSafe requirements
About You
-
Solid experience in the Victorian Workers’ Compensation scheme

Good understanding of relevant legislation and WorkSafe guidelines

Experience in a technical specialist or similar role

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Well-organised with the ability to manage competing priorities

Sound problem-solving and decision-making capability
-
Experience supporting or coaching case managers (desirable)
