Role Overview: The Pre-Sales / Solutioning Architect for the Dynatrace Practice is a senior, customer-facing technical leader responsible for shaping, positioning, and technically validating Dynatrace-led solutions during the sales cycle. This role bridges sales strategy, technical architecture, and delivery feasibility, ensuring proposed solutions align with client outcomes, DXC offerings, and Dynatrace best practices.
This individual partners closely with Sales, Account Teams, ServiceNow, Cloud, and Delivery leaders to design observability-driven solutions that improve performance, reliability, security, and business outcomes across complex enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales & Solutioning
- Lead technical discovery and solution design for Dynatrace opportunities across infrastructure, applications, cloud, and digital experience monitoring
- Translate customer business challenges into value-driven Dynatrace architectures (APM, Infra, DEM, Logs, Security, AIOps)
- Design end-to-end solutions incorporating Dynatrace + DXC services (implementation, optimization, managed services, cloud, SRE, FinOps)
- Support RFP/RFI responses, solution narratives, architecture diagrams, and technical sections
- Define scope, assumptions, dependencies, and risks to ensure a clean handoff to delivery
Sales & Account Partnership
- Partner with Account Executives and Sales Engineers to support qualified opportunities
- Act as the technical voice of credibility in customer meetings, workshops, and executive briefings
- Assist in value articulation, use-case mapping, and ROI storytelling (performance, cost, reliability, risk reduction)
- Collaborate with Dynatrace field teams and partners as needed
Cross-Practice Integration
- Align Dynatrace solutions with ServiceNow (ITOM, ITSM, AIOps), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and DXC Managed Services
- Design solutions that support operational maturity models (SRE, AIOps, CloudOps, Digital Transformation)
- Identify opportunities to expand beyond tooling into ongoing services and outcomes
Technical Leadership
- Maintain deep working knowledge of Dynatrace platform capabilities and roadmap
- Stay current on observability trends, cloud architectures, and enterprise monitoring strategies
- Contribute to standard solution patterns, reference architectures, and reusable assets for the practice
- Support internal enablement and deal reviews as a subject-matter expert
Success Metrics
- Contribution to the qualified pipeline and deal win-rate
- Quality and accuracy of the proposed architecture and scope
- Smooth transition from pre-sales to delivery with minimal re-work
- Expansion of Dynatrace opportunities into multi-service engagements
- Trusted advisor status with sales teams and key clients
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in enterprise IT, observability, performance engineering, or cloud architecture
- Strong hands-on experience with Dynatrace (APM, Infra, DEM, Logs, AIOps)
- Proven experience in pre-sales, solution architecture, or technical consulting
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and executive audiences
- Experience working in enterprise, multi-platform environments (on-prem, hybrid, cloud)
Preferred Qualifications
- Dynatrace certifications (Associate, Professional, or Master)
- Experience integrating Dynatrace with ServiceNow ITOM/AIOps
- Background in SRE, DevOps, CloudOps, or Managed Services
- Exposure to large-scale enterprise transformations or global clients.
