Job Description:

Role Summary 

We are looking for a hands-on ECP consultant to lead configuration, data migration, and parallel-run validation for a Germany payroll implementation on Employee Central Payroll (SAP HCM for S/4HANA basis), migrating from an existing SAP ECC HCM Payroll landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure ECP for Germany payroll (schema PE01/PCR PE02) covering gross-to-net processing, wage type model, and statutory deductions.

  • Lead schema/PCR gap analysis and adaptation from legacy aligning to best practice keeping customer Z-PCRs at minimum.

  • Design and execute payroll parallel runs (min. 2–3 cycles) with wage-type-level reconciliation against legacy ECC output.

  • Configure and validate EC↔ECP Point-to-Point (P2P) integration for German-specific Infotypes and data flows.

  • Set up and operationalize Payroll Control Center (PCC) for production payroll processing.

  • Support cutover planning, legal-change readiness, and hyper care.

Skills Required:

  • Employee Central Payroll configuration on SAP HCM for S/4HANA (S4HCM) basis.

  • Payroll schema (PE01) and PCR (PE02) design, custom rule development, and troubleshooting.

  • Wage type configuration, wage type characteristics, cumulation classes, processing/evaluation classes.

  • P2P integration setup (EC to ECP replication), Point-To-Point Configuration Workbook.

  • Payroll Control Center (PCC) setup, process models, payroll process monitoring.

  • Time Off/Time Tracking to Payroll integration (quota/absence valuation).

  • Legacy data migration methodology, cutover strategy, YTD/retro data handling.

  • Strong SIT/UAT and parallel-run reconciliation experience.

  • Fluent German and English.

Experience: Experience: 6–10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Payroll, including a minimum of 3 full-cycle Germany  SAP Payroll implementations.

Preferred Certifications: SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP Employee Central Payroll; SAP HCM Payroll Germany certification

Germany-Specific Payroll Skills (Mandatory):

  • Deep expertise in German payroll schema (DEU0/D0) and country-specific PCRs.

  • Social Insurance (SI/SV) configuration: contribution groups, SI providers (Krankenkassen), DEÜV reporting, and health/nursing/pension/unemployment insurance calculation logic.

  • Wage/Income Tax (Lohnsteuer): ELStAM (electronic tax deduction) integration, tax classes, tax procedure (Steuerklassen), church tax (Kirchensteuer), Soli surcharge.

  • Statutory reporting: DEÜV, SI contribution statements, tax certificates Lohnsteuerbescheinigung), BA (Bundesagentur für Arbeit) reporting, statistics reporting (Beitragsnachweis).

  • Payments: DTA/DTAZV and SEPA payment medium configuration for German banking formats.

  • Capital formation benefits (Vermögenswirksame Leistungen – VL), garnishment (Pfändung) processing per German civil law.

  • Familiarity with Works Council (Betriebsrat) co-determination requirements impacting payroll/time configuration.

  • Awareness of German labor law constraints affecting time valuation, overtime, and public holiday calendars by Bundesland.

  • Experience keeping pace with annual German legal-change (Tarifänderung/Rechtsänderung) support packages.

Data Migration & Parallel Run:

  • Proven experience extracting, mapping, and loading legacy ECC HCM Payroll master/time/payroll-result data (infotypes 0000–0521 range, cluster RT/CRT data) into ECP.

  • YTD payroll results migration for tax and SI continuity across cutover.

  • Design and governance of parallel run cycles: variance analysis, sign-off criteria, defect triage between legacy and target system.

  • Experience aligning cutover with German payroll period-end/month-end and legal reporting deadlines.
