AWS DevOps Engineer
We are looking for an experienced AWS Devops Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team, a multi‑skilled professional responsible for delivering customer projects and managed services in DXC‑managed cloud environments. This role has a primary focus on AWS, delivering secure, highly available and automated solutions, while operating within agile delivery models to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement of cloud platforms through automation, standardization and proactive monitoring.
- Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tooling to execute changes in alignment with change management processes.
- Act as an escalation point for the CloudOps support team and provide expert technical guidance.
- Take ownership of assigned deliverables and drive them to completion, collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Engage with customer stakeholders to clarify requirements and provide technical leadership.
- Operate within an agile software development lifecycle.
- Own and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, ensuring fast, reliable, and repeatable deployments.
- Provide mentoring and technical leadership to junior engineers and where required, perform technical lead duties.
- Lead incident response for infrastructure and pipeline issues, conducting root cause analyses and implementing preventative measures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, including architecture overviews, infrastructure diagrams, onboarding guides, and process documentation.
Required Skills and Experience
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS, including core services and architectural best practices. including EC2, Cloutformation, Cloudwatch, SSM, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, and Route 53.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Experience across one or more technical domains including Linux, Windows, networking, security, storage or databases.
- Proven DevOps experience working with automation, CI/CD pipelines and agile delivery practices.
- Strong problem‑solving skills
- Experience integrating systems and building reusable, automated infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of networking and security principles.
- Strong Scripting and automation skills using tools such as Python, PowerShell, BASH
- Solid working knowledge of JSON and YAML for configuration and data serialization.
- Experience using Source control tools eg GIT to manage repositories, branching strategies, and pull request workflows.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Exposure to Azure environments, including Azure DevOps, Azure networking, security and identity services.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, EKS or AKS.
- Familiarity with identity providers such as Azure AD, Okta or Duo.
- Understanding of serverless and microservices architectures.
- Experience with HashiCorp Packer for building and maintaining standardized, hardened OS images across AWS environments.
- Experience with Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) for configuration management, application deployment, and automating operational tasks across hybrid and cloud environments.
