About the role:

Experienced Senior Functional Consultant – SAP Field Service Management (FSM) to join a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation program for a global manufacturing organization. The consultant will play a key role in designing and implementing end-to-end field service processes, ensuring seamless integration between SAP FSM, SAP S/4HANA Service, and related SAP and non-SAP applications.

This role requires strong functional expertise in service management, field service operations, work order execution, scheduling and dispatching, mobility, and service execution processes, along with the ability to engage business stakeholders, translate requirements into solution design, and support delivery across the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in SAP FSM implementations, preferably in manufacturing or industrial equipment/service environments, and understands how field service integrates into broader service transformation and S/4HANA programs.

Key responsibilities:

Functional Leadership:

  • Lead the functional design and implementation of SAP Field Service Management (FSM) within a strategic S/4HANA transformation program.

  • Drive workshops with business stakeholders to capture, validate, and prioritize requirements across field service, customer service, maintenance/service execution, and after-sales operations. Planning & Dispatching board, Mobile Field Service app, Smartforms.

  • Translate business requirements into scalable SAP FSM solution designs aligned with the target operating model and S/4HANA service processes.

  • Act as the senior functional SME for SAP FSM across design, build, test, deployment, and hypercare phases.

S/4HANA Integration:

  • Architect and oversee the seamless integration of SAP FSM with core SAP S/4HANA Service, Customer Service (CS), and Plant Maintenance (PM) modules, ensuring accurate master data and transactional data flow.

Cross-Functional Alignment:

  • Collaborate tightly with SAP S/4HANA architects, developers, and middleware teams (e.g., SAP CPI/BTP) to ensure technical feasibility and optimal system performance.

Testing & Deployment:

  • Lead system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) phases. Develop test scripts, manage defect resolution, and support the business through cutover and hypercare.

Mentorship & Leadership:

  • Guide and mentor junior functional consultants and technical developers. Champion best practices for SAP FSM within the project team.

Change Management:

  • Assist in creating training materials and deliver key-user training to facilitate high adoption rates among dispatchers and field technicians.

Qualifications & experience:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of progressive SAP functional experience, with at least 3+ years strictly dedicated to implementing SAP FSM (formerly CoreSystems).

  • Manufacturing Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of heavy manufacturing field service processes, including break-fix, preventative maintenance, warranties, and complex installed base/equipment management.

  • Integration Knowledge: Proven experience integrating SAP FSM with SAP S/4HANA Service, SAP ECC CS/PM, and understanding the associated master data objects (Equipment, Functional Locations, Business Partners).

  • Technical Acumen: Familiarity with the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) as it relates to FSM data replication.

  • Project Delivery: Experience completing at least two full-lifecycle SAP FSM implementations from scope to post-go-live support within a large enterprise setting.

  • Communication: Exceptional English communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical constraints into clear business impacts for C-level and VP-level stakeholders.

Additional qualifications:

  • Valid SAP Certification in SAP Field Service Management.

  • Experience working within Agile or SAFe project methodologies.

  • Previous experience dealing with offline mobile capabilities and advanced Smartform scripting.

  • Knowledge of the wider SAP Customer Experience (CX) portfolio, particularly SAP Service Cloud.
