ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Junior SAP Developer with 1–3 years of professional experience to join our SAP Applications team. 

The successful candidate will participate in the development, enhancement, integration, testing, and support of SAP solutions across different customer environments. The role provides the opportunity to work with experienced SAP professionals while progressively taking ownership of technical deliverables. 

The position combines traditional SAP development capabilities with modern SAP technologies and software engineering practices, including SAP S/4HANA, ABAP, Fiori/UI5, APIs, SAP BTP, Git-based development, cloud technologies, and AI-assisted development. 

We are looking for someone with a strong technology foundation, excellent learning capabilities, a collaborative mindset, and genuine interest in keeping up with the evolution of the SAP ecosystem and emerging technologies. 

Because the role involves collaboration with international teams and customers, strong English communication skills are essential.W 

 

WHAT YOU’ WILL DO: in this role your key responsibilities will be:

• Develop, enhance, test, document, and maintain SAP applications and technical components under the guidance of senior developers and technical leads. 
• Develop and maintain solutions using ABAP and ABAP Objects (OO ABAP), following SAP development standards and software engineering best practices. 
• Participate in SAP S/4HANA development activities, including enhancements, reports, interfaces, conversions, forms, and workflows as required by the project. 
• Develop or support modern SAP applications using technologies such as Core Data Services (CDS), OData services, REST APIs, SAP Fiori and SAPUI5. 
• Assist in the development and integration of SAP solutions with external applications and cloud services using APIs and modern integration patterns. 
• Participate in SAP BTP and cloud-based development initiatives, gaining exposure to modern SAP extensibility and clean-core principles. 
• Analyze technical requirements and translate functional specifications into reliable and maintainable technical solutions. 
• Troubleshoot application issues, perform root-cause analysis, debug programs, and implement corrective actions. 
• Perform unit testing and support integration, regression, and user acceptance testing activities. 
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from senior developers and technical leads. 
• Follow development standards related to source control, documentation, testing, security, performance, and application lifecycle management. 
• Use modern development tools and practices, including Git/version control, IDEs, automated development tools, and AI-assisted development tools, when applicable. 
• Prepare clear technical documentation for developed solutions, configurations, interfaces, and troubleshooting procedures. 
• Collaborate with functional consultants, developers, architects, project managers, and customer teams in multicultural and geographically distributed environments. 
• Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, knowledge-transfer sessions, and solution demonstrations when required. 
• Proactively learn new SAP capabilities, development frameworks, cloud technologies, and emerging technologies relevant to enterprise application development. 
• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, reusable development assets, technical communities, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

WHO YOU ARE

• 1–3 years of experience in software development, preferably within SAP environments. 
• Hands-on exposure to SAP ABAP development or equivalent SAP technical development experience. 
• Basic to intermediate understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles. 
• Understanding of software development lifecycle concepts, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support. 

SAP Technical Skills 

Experience or working knowledge in some of the following areas is expected: 

• SAP ABAP / ABAP Objects 
• SAP S/4HANA development concepts 
• CDS Views 
• OData services and REST APIs 
• SAP Fiori / SAPUI5 
• Enhancements, BAdIs, BAPIs, RFCs or similar SAP extensibility mechanisms 
• SAP interfaces and integration concepts 
• SQL and relational database concepts 

Exposure to the following is highly desirable but not mandatory: 

• SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) 
• SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) 
• SAP Integration Suite

• SAP Build or related low-code/no-code technologies 
• Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI technologies 

Software Engineering & Development Practices 

• Basic experience with Git or another source-control platform. 
• Understanding of clean code, modular development, debugging, testing, and technical documentation. 
• Ability to analyze technical problems and work systematically toward their resolution. 
• Interest in using modern development environments, automation tools, and AI-assisted software development responsibly. 

Communication & Professional Skills 

• Strong English communication skills are required, both written and verbal. 
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly with team members and other stakeholders. 
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. 
• Ability to work effectively with multicultural and geographically distributed teams. 
• Self-motivated, responsible, and capable of managing assigned tasks with appropriate guidance. 
• Strong willingness to learn and develop new technical capabilities. 
• Curiosity about emerging technologies and the evolution of the SAP ecosystem. 
• Ability to receive technical feedback and incorporate it into future work. 
• Customer-oriented mindset and professional communication skills. 

 

Education & Certifications 

Required 

• Bachelor's degree or advanced university studies in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or another related technology discipline. 
• Candidates should have a formal educational background that provides a solid foundation in software development, programming, algorithms, databases, and information technology.

Preferred 

SAP certifications or formal SAP training are considered an advantage, particularly in areas such as: 

• SAP ABAP Development 
• SAP S/4HANA 
• SAP Fiori / SAPUI5 
• SAP BTP 
• SAP Integration 
• SAP Application Development 

For this junior position, certifications are not mandatory. Demonstrated technical ability, learning potential, hands-on development experience, and willingness to pursue relevant SAP certifications are equally important. 

The successful candidate is expected to continuously develop technical capabilities and remain up to date with new SAP technologies, cloud development practices, Artificial Intelligence, and modern software engineering tres.
